Marc Sarmiento is Head of Research & Innovation in Austrian Post’s Parcel Division. He has been in the logistics industry since 2006 and joined Austrian Post 10 years ago. He held several leadership positions before being promoted to his current role in 2017, where he works very passionately on new e-commerce solutions for customers living in Austria.

Together with the start-up PHS, Marc developed a self-unloading truck, that can unload trucks and containers fully autonomously. He also worked on EVs and other green vehicles that are now part of the urban delivery fleet. In-home delivery is one of his current projects. Once done, Austrian Post couriers will be able to open entrance doors if the recipients are not at home.
