Senior Vice President - North and South Pacific Operations, FedEx Express

Kawal Preet, Senior Vice President of Operations, leads and drives FedEx business in the North and South Pacific regions (excluding mainland China and Mongolia), which are home to some of the world’s fastest growing economies.

Based in Hong Kong, Kawal heads the overall planning and implementation of corporate strategies and operations, and manages over 11,000[1] team members in more than 30 markets including Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Prior to this role, Kawal was Vice President, Planning & Engineering Air Network for Asia Pacific, a position she assumed in 2016. She was responsible for building superior air network capabilities, designing differentiated clearance processes and developing agile operations technologies, business analytics and best practices to optimize air and ground operations.

Kawal joined FedEx Express in 1997 as an associate engineer in Singapore and has held various management roles in planning and engineering as well as operations throughout Asia. In 2006, she was promoted to Managing Director, Planning & Engineering, where she led several strategic initiatives including the introduction of the Boeing 777F. She also oversaw airline network planning and implementation driving service excellence and revenue growth in Asia. In 2014, Kawal served as Vice President, Planning & Engineering for Asia Pacific, spearheading a team of 300 professionals to design, plan and implement operation strategies across both the air and ground infrastructure, in order to drive business model transformation and profitable growth.

Kawal is a three-time recipient of the FedEx Five Star Award, the most prestigious award in the organization that acknowledges outstanding FedEx employees. Kawal is an active board member at ‘Asia Airfreight Terminal’ (AAT) in Hong Kong and the US-ASEAN Business Council.

Kawal holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology in India and received her MBA from Macquarie Graduate School of Management in Australia.
