Andreas Gregoriou was appointed Director of the Department of Postal Services on 1st February 2008, after his selection by the Public Service Commission.
He studied at Athens University where he received his degree in Economics in 1988. In 2006 he was awarded a Master’s degree in Public Management from the Cyprus International Institute of Management.
Andreas worked in the private sector from 1988 to 1992 and then began his career in the Public Service. He was recruited in the Inland Revenue Department in 1992 and worked until 1993. He then joined the Department of Customs as a Customs Examiner in 1993 and worked until 2002. During his service he was seconded to the Directorate of Tax Policy of the Ministry of Finance for the period 1999 to 2001. In November 2002 he was appointed Senior Officer responsible for financial and legal issues at the newly established Office of the Commissioner of Electronic Communications and Postal Regulation where he worked until January 2008. During his service, he was among others responsible for regulating the postal sector in Cyprus with the transposition of EU Directives into the national legislation.
